Kim Jong Un 2026 Plan :- North Korean leader Kim Jong Un presided over a groundbreaking ceremony for this year’s first regional development project. According to state media, Kim said his regional development policy will play a crucial role in transforming nearly one-third of the country and is a major step toward improving people’s living standards.
The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that Kim Jong Un attended the groundbreaking ceremony in Unnyul County, South Hwanghae Province, where he personally shoveled the first earth to mark the start of construction. This event is seen as the launch of the first regional construction projects for 2026.
Kim Jong Un launched his regional development policy in 2024, promising to build modern industrial factories in 20 cities and counties across the country every year for the next ten years. The main objective is to improve the lives of people in different regions of the country equally.
During the ceremony, Kim said the policy is now entering its third year. He explained that in addition to industrial facilities, public health facilities and recreational complexes will also be built in 20 different areas of the country, including Unnyul County. This will provide local residents with better infrastructure and accelerate regional development.
Kim Jong Un stated that the appearance of nearly one-third of these cities and counties will be completely transformed. He described it as a strong effort to bring about equitable improvements in people’s lives and said the policy also unleashes the country’s development potential.
He also said that this entire plan is an example of North Korea’s “people-first” policy. According to Kim, the government’s goal is not to develop only a few selected areas, but to bring about change across the entire country so that every citizen can benefit.
During the event, Kim Jong Un also praised the strong efforts of the soldiers working on the regional development project. He praised the army for its contributions as “builders of the people’s well-being” and said that their efforts were making projects of this scale possible.
Kim asserted that his party would continue to provide all necessary resources and facilities for regional development in the future. He emphasized that the annual plans should be implemented with complete sincerity to ensure the credibility of the development efforts.
Political analysts believe that Kim’s recent focus on consolidating the regional development panel may be part of a strategy to strengthen public support ahead of the upcoming party congress, which is expected to be held next month.
